Dix to Announce Future Plans

Wednesday, September 18, 2013 @ 1:58 PM
Prince George, B.C. – We are just a couple of hours away from learning what B.C.’s leader of the New Democrats plans for his future.

Adrian Dix has slated a news conference for 4 this afternoon.   It is not known if he will announce he is stepping down, but will stay on as interim leader until a new one is chosen or if he will say he will stay in the role and undergo a leadership review at the upcoming November convention. Those are just two of his options.

Dix’s role as leader of the Provincial New Democrats has been under scrutiny since the NDP failed to win the provincial election in May. It was an election most pundits expected the NDP to walk away with, and polls indicated Dix and the NDP had a commanding lead.

The Liberal majority win left many in shock, and the NDP has spent much of the last 4 months analyzing what went wrong.

They played to nice. They should’ve stooped to the Liberals level if they wanted to really win. As it turns out.

Pfft. An admitted document forger who took a $70K severance package when relieved of his duties. What did they expect?

I hope Dix stays on for another run……Liberals would be a shoe in again ! Thank goodness !

Played too nice???? They did not play at all! The only time Dix opened his mouth during the entire campaign was to stick his foot in.

Future political science books will have the NDP strategy as the #1 example of how NOT to run a campaign. 40 point swing in 28 days…still get a big smile when I think about turning on the TV to watch the coverage.

I would have paid big money to be able to watch that Mustela faced dix as Global announced Christy as the winner.

If he does resign they should elect a cardboard cutout as new leader as it would have as much personality as the last two leaders:P Combined:D

Most people would be absolutely giddy and happy their sports team or political party would win! I get that, but someone being absolutely giddy and happy that a sports team or political party lost, says a lot about a person’s character…

The joy was for the well being of the province going forward and thankfully a majority of the voters agreed.

And if you want to talk character, or complete lack thereof, start with the forger.

Maybe his significant other can introduce him to poetry. I got one. “There once was a girl from Reno…..” Oops. Sorry. That’s a limerick. Poetry? Yeah, right. the guy needs to head to the nearest job fair. he should be qualified for sumthing.

lonesome states; “I would have paid big money to be able to watch that Mustela faced dix as Global announced Christy as the winner.”

Then lonesome tries pathetically to retract to; “The joy was for the well being of the province going forward and thankfully a majority of the voters agree.”

Anyone can plainly see your two statements cannot be reconciled. Your first statement is kind of twisted and reveals a lot about your personality. Tell me… would you also have paid big money to watch the faces of family members when searches for their loved ones bodies are called off without the use of better technology (side scan sonar and ROVs) being used?

The look of disappointment on their faces seems to be something you would pay big money to watch… right lonesome?

One deals with the loss of a political “battle”.

The other deals with death.

Rather an extreme analogy!! But then that is typical of people#1, so no surprises.

Hey, I am not one to enjoy the look of disappointment on anyones face no matter what the reason… lonesome apparently gets a “kick” out of it!

Gus you are right when you use the word “loss” which applies to both the loss of a family member, or loss of an election. Loss is loss and disappointment is disappointment. How anyone can pay big money to see that look on someone’s face is both disturbing and a bit sociopathic.

Defend her all you want Gus, I am not the one who would deny closure to the families of drowning victims!

“I am not the one who would deny closure to the families of drowning victims!”

That discussion has been had.

Ever heard of reality and priorities? It is easy for one to demand something from the public purse. It is another thing to handle something with one’s own funds.

There is a notion of unrealistic expectations. We each have our own view which fits somewhere on a spectrum of expectations from realistic to unrealistic.

Just because I do not have the same expectations you have does not mean that I am wrong or you are right. We are simply different. It would help to understand that simple notion of difference and keep it to oneself.

Basically, letting someone know that one considers another to be virtually subhuman does not do anything to improve the situation. It simply turns the person off.

It is one of the lessons when one wishes to be part of a social community rather than a loner. ;-)

“Loss is loss and disappointment is disappointment”

So you are a person who believes in black and white. There are no shades of gray for you. That is not the world we live in as far as I have learned in my life.

There is happy and there is sad, lonesome wants to pay “big money” to see sad or disappointment.

Why would she want to pay “big money” to see a shade of average grey? Between the two extremes, lonesome squeals with delight to see sadness and disappointment on someone (dix’s) face.

You can defend her all you want, but taking great satisfaction in seeing the expression of those particular emotions on someone’s face seems a bit… pathological…

“Basically, letting someone know that one considers another to be virtually subhuman does not do anything to improve the situation. It simply turns the person off.”

I question anyone’s “system of values” when they value money more than seeing closure for grieving family members who want to find the bodies of their drowned loved ones.

Speaking of closure, here is another breaking news story about the “accidental” discovery of six (6) bodies while testing new sonar in a lake in the USA.

http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/09/17/20547251-cold-wet-cases-oklahoma-troopers-stumble-on-six-bodies-in-two-cars-at-bottom-of-lake?lite

But you know what? It doesn’t matter how many success stories I can find and post here… there will always be the Gus’s and lonesome’s out there holding, oh so tightly, to tax payer money that needs to be spent on twinning a highway out in the middle of nowhere!!! Yeah… I guess sometimes I question people’s priorities!!!

The words that spring to mind

-sanctimonious
-hypocritical
-self righteous
-hyperbolic

and for some reason…bag of wind.

For anyone still reading, this is what you get called for standing up and championing the interests of grieving family members who are seeking closure through the recovery of their drowned loved ones.

I thought the current news story that I kinked to was an incredibly relevant example of how effective side scan sonar and ROV technology can be!

Wow.. they were not even looking for bodies, only testing the new sonar and found six (6) bodies! Hey, all you tightwad Liberal -Conservative MLAs this would be money WELL SPENT! Don’t be a Tin Man… have a heart!!!

Please…you lost the high moral ground and all credibility the moment you suggested that I take some perverse pleasure in the suffering of drowning victims families.

If you have such strong feeling on this matter what have you done to follow up? Become a founding member of the water search society or raised funds on their behalf? Lobbied your MLA to make the wearing of PFD mandatory to help prevent some of the deaths? Or simply flapped your virtual gums on forums like this one and call on someone(read government) to do something?

BTW What does “Dix to Announce Future Plans” have to do with side scan other than an excuse to rehash the same tired narrative? Seem to recall you calling out others for wandering so far off topic….glass houses and stones ring a bell?

lonesome, can I go with publicly embarrassing and guilting our government into taking action on behalf of these grieving families?

Kind of tough getting through to Lib-Con politicians that everything does not need to have a business case attached to it to receive funding.

Come on all you Lib-Con MLAs just because recovering downing victims is not about “jobs and the economy” does not mean investing in proven technology to help locate drowning victims is wasting taxpayer dollars!

My parting gift to Adrian Dix is to take up this cause on his party’s behalf. I for one would love to have a tiny amount of my tax dollars spent on this very worthy cause!

As I expected the answer is c)virtual gum flapping… depth of commitment amounts to nothing more than putting the bonbons down for a few seconds to make a couple of keystrokes.

Again… what is the connection between Dix’s plans and dead bodies (other than the rotting corpse he wheeled out as an excuse for a campaign.)

Hmm… I champion grieving families to recover their drowned loved ones, yet you refer to them as “dead bodies”.

I wouldn’t attend any funerals if I were you, referring to their loved ones as “dead bodies” will not win you any friends! But that’s right, you do call yourself “lonesome” don’t you?… ever ask yourself why?

Until next time lonesome… because we both know there will always be a next time!

If you must know the name is from a song that was playing when I was signing up and it struck a chord on a few levels, the context of the song and the idea of posting anonymously to an online forum.

The genesis of yours must lie somewhere at the feet of Marx and judging by content of posts it would be Zeppo Marx not Karl. Honk Honk
