Terrace, B.C. – One person is dead after an early morning crash in the Nass Valley, north of Terrace.

 

RCMP say a vehicle with three occupants was traveling along the Nisga’a Highway 15 kilometres west of New Aiyansh shortly after 1 a.m. when it left the road and hit a rock face. Investigators say the vehicle then ended up back on the road and caught fire.

 

Two people managed to escape the wreck, but the third was trapped and died. RCMP say one person was taken to hospital in Terrace with non life-threatening injuries while the second survivor was looked over and released.

 

Investigators believe speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

 

Highway 113 remains closed in both directions and there is no detour available.
