McBride, B.C. – It could be  10 tonight before power is restored between McBride east to Valemount and  from Valemount  south on Highway 5.

A transmission circuit failure   has been blamed for the loss of electricity along the highway 16 corridor and south on highway  5.

Nearly 3,000 customers are without power.
