Matters Inquest Starts Today

Monday, October 7, 2013 @ 3:58 AM
Prince George, B.C. – Today, a Coroner’s Inquest will start into the police shooting of Gregory John Matters.

Matters is the 40 year old Canadian Armed Forces Veteran who died on a family property in September of 2012 when he was shot by a member of the RCMP’s Emergency response Team.

Presiding Coroner Chico Newell and a jury will hear evidence to determine the facts surrounding this death.

By law, the jury cannot assign any blame or legal responsibility, but it will make recommendations aimed at preventing deaths under similar circumstances in the future.

The death of Matters was the first case to be investigated by the Independent Investigations Office.

The inquest is scheduled to run the full week and  is being conducted at the Prince George Courthouse.

Another layer of government, to cover up more wrong doings.

No apologies, no remorse.

The good old court of public opinion…

I don’t know how these guys can sleep at night.

At the end of the road they will be judged by a higher power than the people or the government.

your 25 cents, that’s deep.

I wonder why we never hear anything from the brother, only the mother and sister. From what I understand Greg Matters had threatened to shoot his brother. Perhaps there is a lot more to this than we have been told. Maybe the police weren’t so wrong, as most people seem to think. Everyone is against the police, but there are more than 2 sides to every story.

If the police weren’t so wrong then why so long for a investigation of this incompentent gang. Cover-up?

Yes, there may be 2 sides to every story, but when 1 side is dead, that leaves only one other side to tell the story.

Why can comments be made here and they are shut down on the Legebokoff story? That one hasn’t even gone to trial yet.

This is not a court case.
