Prince George, B.C.- The “Evening With the Masters” turned out to be a very successful event.
It was the last “test run” for Culinary Team Canada, before they head to a major championship event in Switzerland. Prince George is the smallest community to have ever hosted the Team.
176 people attended the $125 a plate dinner at the College of New Caledonia last night which offered delights such as lobster foam, broken salmon, braised veal, and a special tray of desserts.
All money raised will go towards paying the Team Canada expenses for the European competition.
With cameras feeding images from the kitchen to the dining area, guests were able to watch the preparation of the meal. “It is a good thing there is now sound” said Chef John Carlo Felicella, Team Manager, “We are very green together and trying to find each other’s groove” says the Chef who told the guests tensions and tempers can run high in a pressure situation.
The tickets for the event had sold within a day of the event being announced, and a further 66 seats were added to the event.
The evening wrapped up with a tweet message to all in Prince George and CNC “Thanks @CNC_BC_CA for having us cook for you tonite! We hope you enjoyed it and we hope to make y’all proud when we return from Switzerland!”
Held every six years in Basel, Switzerland the “Salon Culinaire Mondial” is considered one of the top three international culinary competitions leading to the Culinary Olympics in 2016.
The event in Switzerland will see teams from more than 30 different countries competing .

If we were to hold the Culinary Olympics following the 2016 event I am sure Prince George would make a killing from all the money brought into this city from the rest of the world.
After having a successful 2015 Canada Winter Games with lots of money coming to this city from that event, I am sure we can convince City Hall to take a run at this one.
my stomach loves that idea!!!
