Friday, October 25, 2013 @ 11:45 AM
Prince George, B.C. –   Less than 24 hours after news was delivered of two sawmill closures in B.C., comes word of the annual BC Natural Resource Forum.

Hosted by former MLA Pat Bell for the past decade, the forum is once again set to go ahead in January, this time, under the wing of Prince George -Mackenzie MLA Mike Morris.

The two day event brings together   a broad range of players in the resource extraction sector. Over the two days, delegates will hear panel discussions on a wide range of topics, share success stories, present opportunities and share innovations in technology and expand the opportunities in the service and supply sector.

The name of the   event has been changed, it is now labelled “Premier’s BC Natural Resource Forum”.

The Premier will be attending the event as she is the keynote speaker on Wednesday, January 22nd, the first day of the 2 day event that will be taking place at the Prince George Civic Centre.

Name an “unnatural” resource.

Excellent request.

One of the things I have asked for most of my life. In fact, I feel that it is a hindrance to create an artificial divide between humans and the rest of nature.

Maybe one of these days someone will be asked to speak at a forum like that with such a viewpoint.

There is a point of view that some of the religious teachings have given us the notion that we are not part of nature. Nature is that which was created for us and that which we have dominion over.

Harbinger … maybe cheap, imported, temporary labour under the guise of skill shortages when unemployed youth exist at home ;->

anotherside…now that you mentioned that I can’t help to think of George Orwell and how he mentioned “working with words” to make them mean what you want.

Harbinger … well met … some work with words, others with numbers … the intent is often similar

Some actually work with people …. ;-)

Hopefully they focus on all peoples input and not just on a limited number of greedy natives only wanting money from these companies and not want to work for it.
