Prince George, B.C. – A road trip to Chase turned out to be just what the doctor ordered for the Cariboo Cougars.
Hot on the heels of Saturday’s 3-2 victory over the Thompson Blazers the Cats came out firing on all cylinders Sunday morning and skated to a 5-1 victory over their Kamloops rivals. Colton Thomas potted two goals while Steven Jandric, Greg Dakus and Cole Morris added singles as the Cougars improved their record to an even 5-5-0 on the young season. Jeremy Matte was the winning goalie. Jandric scored the winner in Saturday’s game and Morris found the net once in that game as well.
The weekend victories put the brakes on a five-game winless streak for the Prince George club. The Cougars host the Kootenay Ice for a pair of games next Saturday and Sunday at CN Centre.
