Quesnel, B.C. – A 18 year man is in custody, and police are recommending charges of Robbery, Assault with a weapon ,  and unauthorized possession of a weapon , after a couple walking along St Laurent Ave in Quesnel was approached by a man with a can of bear spray demanding money.

The suspect produced a can of bear spray and sprayed the man before fleeing on foot toward the footbridge where he assaulted two other men  with bear spray.

He was arrested a few minutes later in the area of North Fraser Drive and the Footbridge.

He is expected to appear in court later today.
