Former PG Resident Victim Of Last Month’s Floatplane Crash
Prince George, BC – Funeral services were held this past weekend for a former Prince George man, one of three men killed in a float plane crash 11 days ago.
40-year-old Frederick Gerald Cecil Wiley was killed in the crash that occurred on an island near the northern end of Vancouver Island, along with 59-year-old Norman Slavik, and 42-year-old pilot Kevin Roger Williams on October 24th.
Wiley is a former PGSS student and veteran logger, who moved to Vancouver Island several years ago. He was the owner of Cold Stone Logging, based in Courtenay. He and Slavik had chartered the floatplane to take them to a logging operation on West Cracroft Island where the fatal crash occurred.
Funeral services for Wiley were held in Courtenay this past Saturday. He leaves behind his wife, Charlene, and his three young daughters. A special fund has been established in his memory for his daughters. Anyone interested in more information can contact Robin Seed at 250-400-7010.
