Candy Tampering Discovered in Kitimat

Kitimat, B.C.- Halloween may have passed, but some of the “tricks” in the “treats” are just now being discovered.
Yesterday, Kitimat RCMP were called to investigate two separate incidents where candy had been tampered with.
In one case, the candy had a screw lodged inside it, and the other had a pin hidden in the candy.
The investigation continues.
RCMP are urging parents to be extra vigilant in examining the treats the children gathered on Halloween. If you should find anything suspicious, contact the RCMP immediately.

People are sick!! This is for kids!
These are commonplace, when I was trick or treating in the 70s we heard of exactly the same thing. Back in the day we had razor blades and other items. Never ever heard of anyone being caught or facing a public flogging over the matter
A pin could possibly be an accident, someones costume pin getting into a wrapper… but a screw is another issue all together.
A screw could have entered the candy in the factory. I don’t see someone deliberately putting a screw into candy.
I should think a deliberately placed screw would have a pretty obvious entrance point wouldn’t it? Definitely something that could happen in factory.
I would bet this did not happen at the factory. Any production line that prepares food has at least one metal detector and probably more than one on the line. People that do this kind of thing are sick.
And that is why parents check the candy over before the kids are allowed to eat them.
The kids went to what? 20 houses? I have to assume the cops have done quite a 3rd. degree on certain home owners…
