Terrace, B.C. – RCMP and Terrace Search and Rescue are hoping for the best after three people failed to return from a weekend trip to a popular hot spring along the Skeena River.

 

Prince Rupert RCMP confirms that swift water rescue teams were called out to Frizzell Hot Springs area shortly before 10:30 Tuesday morning for a report of three missing people.

 

Frizzell Hot Springs is located on the south side of the Skeena approximately 32 kilometres east of Prince Rupert and is accessed by boat year-round.

 

Search Manager Dave Jephson with Terrace SAR says two boats and six personnel have been sent to the area along with another boat carrying Prince Rupert RCMP officers.

 

Jephson says he’s hopeful the crews will locate the trio safe and sound.
