Suspect In Custody Following Crime Spree
Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George RCMP are investigating a series of Criminal offences that occurred earlier this evening.
It all started just after 5:30 this evening when Prince George RCMP received a 9-1-1 call reporting a female had been struck with a hammer by a lone male in the University Heights subdivision in Prince George.
While en route to the scene, police received more information advising that the victim had stopped to check her mail near the entrance to the subdivision, when an unknown man had entered her car and demanded her keys. When she refused, the suspect struck her with a hammer. The victim fled with the keys to a nearby residence to call for help. She was taken to hospital and treated for her injuries.
Within moments of the first call, a second 9-1-1 call was received advising that a man had forcibly entered a residence and punched a female while trying to obtain her car keys. The incident had occurred in the same area as the first assault.
Officers attended the area, but the suspect had fled on foot. A perimeter was set up and a Police Service Dog was requested. Minutes later, a third 9-1-1 call was received from an adult male that had been assaulted by a man with a piece of drain pipe on Kinney Court, approximately a block away from the previous assaults.
Within a few minutes, Police Service Dog 'Astro' and handler arrived and began to track the suspect through the wooded area around the subdivision. 'Astro' tracked the suspect towards the Davis Road area, off Ospika Drive. Officers secured the area.
At approximately 6:45 PM, a homeowner flagged down a police officer and advised that a man had broken into his house on Bona Dea Drive, off Davis Road. Police attended and arrested a 52 year old Prince George resident attempting to steal a vehicle in the driveway of the residence. Approximately a minute after the arrest, 'Astro' completed tracking the suspect to this residence. Indications were the suspect had entered the residence through a dog door before exiting and making his way to the vehicle.
Checks of the first and second victims' vehicles found that they had damage to the ignition.
The Prince George RCMP's Forensic Identification Section attended the scenes to gather evidence.
The suspect will be held in custody at least until his first court appearance on Friday November 15th.
This investigation continues.

52 years old ? I am thinking he has a lengthy criminal record ! Time to throw away the key ,
what no name?
He hasn’t been formally charged yet….so no name. Guy sounds like a waste of skin….
Let me guess. Not his first offense.
Must of been desperate to get back to jail or high on drugs.
Imagine trying to get a job and go straight when one has a criminal record.
I am not defending any criminal activity, just that once a person has been to jail, into is near impossible to get straight because very few employers are willing to hire criminals.
Once in the life, always in the life.
Loki; there are criminals and some try and get out of that circle. Then there is human scum. This guy punched a 70 year old woman in her face! Send him to texas
So the compassionate response for a desperate person’s survival efforts is a summary conviction with a death sentence?
No trial.
No jury of peers.
Just read a scant local news story and decide that once a criminal, then there is no need for understanding, compassion or solution to his desperation.
must be nice to see the world so.
It is nice Loki, wonder if you would exhibit the same compassion if it was you who got smoked with a hammer.
“So the compassionate response for a desperate person’s survival efforts”
Nice way of putting several unprovoked assaults. At some point, you have to take ultimate responibility for your actions.
Loki; this sub human could have killed the first two beautiful citizens of our community, and women! The first was gettin her mail and got hit with a hammer, next was a 70 year old woman who answered a knock on her door of her HOME and got punched in her face!! He continued on from there. Maybe his parents didn’t hug him enough? He didn’t get any love in jail? Maybe he is and proven to be a first class waste of skin! You are welcome to bring the pathetic waste of oxygen into your home for milk and cookies, not me! Note: he isn’t 17 yrs old and just “confused”
Sure hope he gets counselling and anger management classes plus three hots and a cot for a long time ‘IF he is found guilty’. I just had to add that last thought.
His lawyer will be lining him up in front of soft-on-crime Weatherly ! This guy will be back looking for an 80 year to punch in the face !! Unreal !!!
This 52 year old beat a lady over the head many times with a hammer, he could have killed her. He then proceeded to smash the glass entrance door to an elderly woman’s home, and then beat her in the face while she tried to get away. This man is scum and deserves to be in jail. For anyone to feel sorry for him, that is totally pathetic. What is truly sad is what these woman have had to go through and what they will continue to go through for years to come. Thankfully they are alive and he is in jail! Hopefully for a long time! We live in this neighborhood and that night was one we will never forget!
