Williams Lake, BC – It is the final lap and a promising young driver from Williams Lake needs help from his fans to capture the checkered flag – the title of '2013 Most Popular Driver' in NASCAR's Canadian Tire Series.

Voting in an online poll to determine the fan favourite closes at 8:59pm Pacific Time tonight, and 21-year-old Ryley Seibert currently sits in second place, just 134 ballots (at last check this morning) behind frontrunner, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin of Quebec.

In a sport with a die-hard fan base in the Eastern provinces, Siebert is one of the few drivers representing the West Coast – and the only to make this contest 'a race' for Dumoulin.

This was Seibert's first season in the Canadian Tire Series.  He finished one point shy of Rookie of the Year, 11th overall, and won an award for gaining the most ground, in terms of positions, in a single race. (photo at right courtesy Ryley Seibert Racing)

Family, friends, and supporters have been taking to social media to rally others to vote.   The Williams Lake driver says the title would be a great way to recognize his entire team – dedicated volunteers who work countless hours and trek across the country to help him achieve his dream.

"We're a small team.  Our funding comes from local 'Ma and Pa' shops," says Seibert. "If something breaks, we are the ones that have to fix it on our own time.  We don't have the luxury of a full-time crew whose sole purpose is to maintain the car."

He says, "A win would be a great representation of drivers and teams who still have to put on their work boots, come Monday morning."
