Early Season Skiing at Purden, Powder King

Saturday, November 23, 2013 @ 4:37 AM

Prince George, B.C. – The winter weather conditions over the past week in the central interior have provided enough snow to allow a couple of ski hills in the region to open.  However both advise that you will experience early season conditions.

Purden Ski Village has received 52cms  in the past week and reports fair to good early season conditions.  Two of three lifts will be in operation from 9:30 to 3:30 Saturday and Sunday, with skiing on the Baker Chair and T-Bar chair accessible runs.

Powder King is opening for the weekend with lifts operating from 9 to 3:30.  We’re told conditions aren’t bad, but they are early season with some obstacles which are not yet covered with snow.  At this time the hill is recommended for  intermediate and  advanced skiers.  Powder King reports 84 cms at the top.
