Prince George, B.C. –The Salvation Army Tree of Lights Campaign is off and running.
This year, the campaign hopes to raise $60 thousand dollars. “Last year we raised $43 thousand” says Salvation Army Business Coordinator Bill Glasgow, “That was the second highest amount ever raised by this campaign, so we’ve bumped it up a little.”
The Tree of Lights will see each bulb lit up with every $5.00 donation. The tree, atop the Coast Inn of the North, acts as a visual barometer of the state of the campaign.
This evening’s light up event came complete with Santa rappelling down the side of the Coast Hotel. An arrival that was followed by an opportunity for young folk to meet with Santa.
The annual campaign helps fund the many services provided by the Salvation Army in Prince George. The Salvation Army assisted more than 3000 people last Christmas.
You can buy a “bulb” by making a $5.00 donation at the Coast Inn, or at any credit union in Prince George.
