Incident Ends At School
Prince George, B.C. – A Prince Rupert man is without a vehicle, and has a string of tickets following a string of events this morning.
According to the RCMP, around 11:15 this morning, a member of the PG RCMP Traffic Section spotted an uninsured black Pontiac Sunfire heading eastbound on 5th Avenue near Douglas.
The officer activated the emergency equipment on his vehicle, and that’s when the suspect vehicle pulled a u-turn and sped off west bound on 5th.
The suspect is then alleged to have run the red light at 5th and97.
Police say the officer believed the driver was trying to avoid police contact, and did not pursue .
A few minutes later, the same vehicle was spotted near 5th and Ogilvie Street. Police received information that an adult male and adult female fled the vehicle.
A witness then told police a couple of suspects had gone into Quinson Elementary School on Ogilvie Street.
Officers went to the school with hopes of finding the suspects, and as a precaution, the school was placed on lockdown.
An adult male was located and arrested in a bathroom. The female was not located.
Police believe the male suspect, showing signs of drug intoxication, entered the school in an effort to elude police and was not targeting children.
A 32 year old Prince Rupert man has been issued violation tickets for six Motor Vehicle Act offences and has had the vehicle impounded for seven days as a result of this incident.

Quick work, and thanks!
Police say the officer believed the driver was trying to avoid police contact, and did not pursue . ” .. Really? What tipped you off.
Only seven days?? Too bad. Good work by the RCMP, by the way.
Is he still in custody or will he be out to do something similar tomorrow?
“I’ll hide in the school. The cops will never find me there.” Lotsa planning went in to this lark, I suppose.
Arrested in the bathroom? Probably sitting on the biffy saying to himself, “What have I just done?”. Ha ha ha .
