Spokesperson, Andrea Johnson, says 19 teams provided 70 safe rides home for city residents last night.  "Every team provided between three and five rides," says Johnson.  "Those who wanted a ride, received a ride."

She says it was slow, but steady, between midnight and 2am and expects tonight will be busier – with 23 teams of volunteers lined up to get people home safely from their evening festivities.

Operation Red Nose is a free and confidential designated driving service that operates over the holiday season.  Volunteers bring you and your vehicle home from your outings.  The number to call between 9pm and 3am is 250-962-7433.
