Burns Lake, BC – Lakes District Hospital in Burns Lake will be purchasing two pieces of priority equipment, thanks to a $50-thousand dollar pledge from the RBC Foundation.

Reps from RBC presented an inital $25-thousand dollar donation to the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, as the first installment.  Foundation CEO, Judy Neiser, says, "We are so excited to receive RBC's generous donation towards better health outcomes in Burns Lake.  They have been a wonderful supporter of a variety of equipment that is needed in the region." This pledge brings RBC's total contribution to the foundation to more than $230-thousand dollars.

Lakes District Hospital Health Services Administrator, Marie Hunter, says the money will go towards an infant warmer/resuscitator, replacing the hospital's current warmer, which is need of update and replacement.  And a special lamp, called a slit lamp, used in the diagnosis and treatment of eye injuries will be purchased for the Emergency Department.
