Name Change in the Works

Tuesday, December 10, 2013 @ 4:33 PM

Letter by letter, the name of the  Commonwealth Health Centre is removed – photo 250News

Prince George, B.C.- Shakespeare  wrote  "What's in a name? that which we call a rose  By any other name would smell as sweet;"
The Directors of Commonwealth Health are hoping  a change in name will  boost business.

The  sign on the “Commonwealth Health Centre” was removed today.

You may recall  that a couple of months ago,  the  owners decided a name change  would  be  a positive  for the  building which   still has  floor space  available for  rent.

There is a possibility the owners  may be seeking a tenant, or corporate sponsor,  who would like to  have their name across  the  top of that  building.

While  the new name has yet to be decided,  the immediate plan will be  to clean up that span of stucco to erase  the building’s previous   moniker.

Good luck

Attract new tenants…..good luck with all the parking available downtown

The whole building looks like it’s just full of corporate offices. Driving by, one does not get the sense it’s actually “open to the public”.

And yes, there’s very limited parking.

Commonpoor fitting? Commondebt? Commonsenseless? I think so.

The entrance was okay for the original use as a Gaming Centre. However, pharmacies and coffee shops do much better if they have a street frontage entry to access them directly from the outside.

Mini-malls generally do not do all that well unless the tenants are retailers with comparable goods – all outerwear, for instance, or all shoewear or all related electronics. That makes it a focused retail area. The first level floor space is also not helped by the sunken area in the middle. Total waste of space.

If they want to keep the openess to the second floor, they could move the cafe into the centre area rather than having it on the side.

I have to agree with 1fastm. The front isn’t very conducive to walk in traffic…

What an awesome homeless shelter it would make……

Hello Commonwealth……….., Hello City……….Where is the walk in clinic that was promised when the original deal went through……Hello.knock knock?

there’s a mall in that building ? Really?

I never knew that.

……Hello…..where’s the condo’s that were promised……..

what exactly is that building used for??/ Thought it was just offices, based on the exterior look. Haven’t been that curious to stop my car to have a second look

Still reminds me of a tomato soup can turned inside out.

There is a clinic for people that do not have doctors on the first floor. It comes in handi for people that have on going medical problems.

“Commonwealth” perhaps negative connotations for the owner relating to a certain court case involving a outstanding NDIT loan, and a construction company owner.

Funny how we don’t hear about this Liberal Insider issue / court case anymore. I was looking forward to seeing if, and how, some Liberal Politicians were involved in that WIDC land flip as well.

I mention no names, to protect the pure innocence and the flawless reputation and character of the individuals alleged to have been involved.

The ex bingo hall was supposed to be all medical clinic, until a bunch of lawyers moved in, Now its half doctors and half lawyers. Stay tuned. There will be more.
