Weather Impacts Some School Buses
Prince George, B.C.- Although Schools are open, some students are having a real challenge getting there.
School District 57 Superintendent Brian Pepper advises there are troubles with some bus routes:
Route #4 is not doing the Wright creek portion.
Bus #21 is not doing the McBride Timber portion.
Bus #51 in McKenzie is only doing in town.
Route #28 is stuck Morald just shy of east Beaverly with 6 students and will not finish the run.
Route #47 stuck – waiting for tow. Everyone is safe.
Route# 63 – not going to the Aberdeen and Aintree area
Route# 5 is stuck
Route #66 – stuck at Eagle Crest and North Kelly Road
Route #17 is not doing Catherine Drive
Route #15 is not going into Bench
Route #7 is not going into Arline, Nazerine or Inglewood

Route #171 is stuck
Route #173 is stuck
Route #177 is stuck
Route #27 is stuck
Route #44 is stuck and not doing the Van Bien portion
School buses are not operating in Quesnel or Fort St. John. Schools are open in those two communities, but students will have to find another way to get there.
Again, despite the snow, all schools are open, however, some bus routes are having difficulty.

My husband and kid have been at the bus stop for over half hour now. Thanks for the update, good to know ours is on its way…. maybe.
Just a reminder, if you get stuck, don’t sit there with your car idling and windows closed. Odds are your exhaust could be restricted by snow.
Good to see the city crew giv’in er bullets this morning, almost seems like a losing battle though. Really wish people would slow down around graders and loaders, they’re not mind readers.
I am amazed how some people in little cars with no clearance think selling some cheap crap from china is so important they are willing to go to work in these conditions. Essential workers yes, retail outlet clerks, no.
I’m amazed how people like Huh haven’t figured out that people who go to work to sell cheap crap from China do so because they have mouths to feed. It’s not an option for them, and they can only afford the small cars.
If you don’t show up for work, you don’t get paid. It must be nice to sit on a pious perch and preach.
To all the bus drivers. Good Work!
If you see a bus going UP a hill pull over and let them take a run at the hill. Remember the up hill traffic has the right of way!
Kudos to the good people of PG that pull together to stop and help others in distress.
“Remember the up hill traffic has the right of way!”
Please explain?
Well said Pylot.
It always amazes me how people make assumptions and fail to consider that perhaps it is ESSENTIAL to the survival of their family that someone makes their way to work. I’m sure if staying home huddled under the blankets were a viable option, they would take it. I sure as hell would!
Interceptor – Sorry, meant to say give them the right of way if you can. Up hill traffic does not have the right of way.
Only on some hills like the good old Bella Coola hill.:)
lol – ok gotcha, thought maybe there was some obscure law I didnt know about ;)

I’m always amazed at the number of people who will not extend this simple courtesy.

Well, it also requires a degree of common sense… which as we all know, isn’t that common.
Stupid question, but why wouldn’t they have just cancelled the buses?
I heard they are the only ones up north that do not stop their bus runs and they are the only ones that use chains. Guess it must be dedication.LOL
