No Ice Oval Opening Today

Prince George, B.C. – The ice oval , on the west side of the Kin Centres in Prince George, was supposed to officially open today, but, the snowstorm this week and the warming temperatures have nixed that.
First, crews have to find out if there is any ice under all the fresh snow, and that will take time to clear off the surface. So you may see crews in the area, but the gate to the ice oval will remain closed.
The official opening will be held in the near future, but no date has been set.

So what is happening with the ice oval for the 2015 winter games? Is it being used? Will a temporary artificial refrigeration system be installed or will we be crossing our fingers?
I say scrap the winter games and safe some tax dollars for something I am sure most of us don’t want

I agree , let’s put tax dollars to services the benefit all tax payers not just some . Many are not in favor of winter games , and other luxuries being put before required services . I am not against the games or performing arts etc but they are luxury that only a percentage of citizens will utilize , but services like policing , ambulance and fire , snow removal etc should take front stage to anything else . Once those are satisfied then look at the luxury services .
