Fire Claims Life of McLeese Lake Resident

McLeese Lake, B.C. – An early morning fire in McLeese Lake has claimed the life of one person.
Williams Lake RCMP say the fire was first reported at 2:30 this morning in a mobile home.
The residence was fully engulfed in flames when RCMP arrived, Fire trucks were unable to assist as there is no fire protection or fire service for the rural McLeese Lake residents.
Due to the heat of the fire, RCMP were unable to immediately search the residence. This afternoon, RCMP discovered a body inside the burned structure.
There is no indication of foul play at this time and the identity of the deceased has not been confirmed.
The RCMP continue their investigation to determine the cause of the fire as well as the identity of the deceased.
