Warning to Public About Sex Assaults
Prince George, B.C.- RCMP in Prince George are issuing a safety advisory as there have been two similar sexually motivated attacks in the past week.
The most recent attack happened on Friday, December 13th, just before 6 pm when a male, wearing a black ski mask, attacked a 15 year old female at the top of the stairs off Massey Drive near the Prince George Secondary School. The victim managed to scream and in doing so scared off the suspect.
The suspect in this investigation is described as:
- Male
- Approximately 168 cm (5'6")
- Average or thin build
- Wearing a black jacket, black gloves and black ski mask
The first incident happened last Thursday when a 17 year old female was Sexually Assaulted as she was walking in the City.
At approximately 4:00 pm on Thursday December 12th, a lone male approached the victim from behind as she was walking along the golf course side of Westwood Drive between Massey Drive and Ferry Avenue. The suspect inappropriately touched the female and kept on walking.
The suspect in this investigation is described as:
- Male, approximately 19 years old
- Fair skin
- Blue eyes
- Wearing a black "puffy" jacket and a mask
Although investigators have not been able to link the two incidents, there is a chance the same person could be responsible for both attacks, especially since they occurred in the same general area of the City.
The Prince George RCMP would like to warn the public, specifically females, and offer the following safety tips:
- Whenever possible, do not walk alone;
- Be cautious of persons around you;
- Vary your route, don't be predictable;
- Travel on busy, well lit routes;

Wow. These are not isolated locations. Hope they catch this guy soon.
A big no-no they forgot to mention is women should stash their personal devices and earbud delivered music, talk about a lack of situational awareness when using these things:

IMO 4pm along Westwood drive is a busy well lit route.
Yeah, I’m sorry but I can’t possibly restrict my activities so much that I’m avoiding walking down main roads in the middle of the day. Awareness is good, but women shouldn’t require an escort to leave the house. Not sure how public transit is a huge help. There’s a bus stop right there. You’re not safer standing alone at a bus stop in the dark. If you are only walking a few blocks I’m guessing it’s a lot safer to walk, and sometimes the only possibility given how infrequently our buses run.
Female officer undercover walk these routes- backup close by but hidden. Bring taser and pepper spray, spare K9 standing by. Choose select evenings; time periods when this could happen as per previous files , sounds like something the community reponse team could handle…no big business plan necessary… Bingo catch the perp get a bite for rover etc.
Not rocket science .
