Don’t Let Your Good Driving Judgement Slip

Prince George, BC – With Christmas Eve often marking the day the holiday season gets into full swing for many, ICBC is out with some sobering statistics to remind party revellers to keep a level head…

The insurance corporation says 10 people have been killed and 36 seriously injured in impaired driving-related crashes in BC between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day over the past five years. (photo at right courtesy ICBC)

In the North Central region, an average of 20 people are injured in 90 crashes every year between 6pm on December 24th and midnight on Boxing Day.  The statistics over the past five years for the six-hours between 6pm December 31st and midnight January 1st, show an average of 10 people are injured in 50 crashes across the region.

So while 'tis the season for some good cheer, ICBC says it's crucial to plan ahead for a safe ride home – that means choosing a designated driving or setting money aside for a bus or taxi ride before leaving home, asking yourself if it's your turn to be the designated driver, and taking a stand by not getting into a car with an impaired driver.

I think ICBC should worry about the crappy conditions of our roads. The more our city saves on street cleaning,, the more ICBC pays out in claims.
My wheel chair is NOT 4 wheel drive.. still can not get out my street, to do any shopping. my THANKS,,to the city of PG..

Amazon is the best way to shop anyway!

Wheel chairs in my opinion are built crappy for the north. Two rubber tracks instead of wheels and it would work great, with gas…electric dual power.
