Right in that -1 to +1 degree celsius temperature range… making changes in highway conditions from water to ice so immediate and rapid.

I hope there was no loss of life… slow down people!!!

It is -8C in Mackenzie and -17C in Chetwynd.

You are not at the center of the universe here. Other places have different weather.

Looks like the highway is snow covered and it is snowing or foggy there at the time of this posting.

be nice Gus… it was just a comment from People#1 bet is warm in Mexico

The current weather conditions at Salmon Valley is 0 degrees celsius with a mix of rain and snow.

Again, changing weather and road conditions over a short 30 km distance require drivers to make adaptations, sometimes they don’t and accidents happen.

Ironic that you post on here like you own the place, then state that “I am am not the center of the universe here”. Of course I am not, apparently you are gus ;-)

Salmon Valley is 0, Bear lake is -3, and McLeod lake is -5

It is 27km to Salmon Valley, 73 km to Bear Lake, 140 to McLeod Lake

From rain and 0 degrees in Salmon Valley to snow and -5 in McLeod Lake, yeah I would call that a change in climate and road conditions.

We need to adjust our winter driving habits, because we are no longer getting “normal” winters. Admittedly, it will take sometime to adjust, but adjust we must.

This weekend it went from +1 at Mackenzie Junction to -20 at the Honeymoon road maintenance yard… total distance maybe 20km at most. Horrid for the windshield with blowing rain/slush/snow.

drove that road up to tumbler for 6 years straight you don’t have to drive very far to witness ever changing road conditions black ice can be just around the next corner bottom line wintertime=winterspeed!!!!
