Boogie With The Stars Raises $36,000

 Prince George-  350 guests rang in the New Year at the  the Boogie with the Stars New Year’s Eve Event,  held at the Civic Centre, and put on by the Dance North Ballroom Dance Club The 4th annual event raised over $36,000 for the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.  The evening included an amazing buffet dinner and after the competition was over, the guests danced the night away to Pink Champagne 7 Piece Dance Band.

Guests were entertained by seven well known Prince George residents and their instructors from Dance North.  They competed for the highly coveted trophy, with results based on both their dance scores and the total amount of funds raised by the celebrity.

Brad Bonner and his instructor Paz took first place, Franca Petrucci and her instructor Lee finished second, while Kelli Moorhead finished third with her instructor, Peter.

Also competing were Dexter Tabora with his instructor Leslie, Rebecca Lear with her instructor Phil and Husband & Wife team Norm Coyne & Candice Manahan rounded out the cast.

Thanks to Peter Weedon and Paz Milburn from Dance North for all of their efforts in putting on this wonderful New Year’s Eve fundraiser as well as a big thank you to all of those who danced, pledged support for the dancers, volunteered at the event or came and were entertained.

Organizers Paz and Peter have asked that all proceeds are directed to the diagnostic SPECT CT Scanner. With a price tag of $1.4 million, every little bit helps bring Spirit that much closer to their goal. In collaboration with Northern Health, the SPECT CT represents the first of many pieces of diagnostic equipment that is greatly needed to provide the best of care close to home in the North.
