Prince George, B.C. – CrimeStoppers Prince George has  presented its annual  award to the  “Officer of the Year” and “General Duty Watch of the Year” at the Prince George RCMP Detachment.

Constable Paul Starr   has been named Officer of the year, for  effective use of Crime Stoppers tips,  including those which lead to  the execution of a search warrant and arrest of a man for Trafficking in a Controlled  Substance.

“B” Wach, led by  Staff Sergeant Marc Pelletier has been  awarded “Watch  of the Year”.  “B” watch’s use of  Crime Stopper  tips led to more arrests in 2013 than any other Watch.

Prince George Detachment  Superintendent Eric Stubbs   says  Prince George is  “Fortunate to have  a very strong Crime Stoppers organization. The numbers speak for themselves of what the Crime Stoppers tips have netted over the years in  arrests, drugs in the locker, firearms in the locker and recovery of stolen property.”

Superintendent Stubbs described the Crime Stoppers  organization in Prince George  as  the “backbone of the community”.

This is Crime Stoppers month,  and the organization will be attending a  few special events in the City to  help spread the word:

-at the  Pine Centre Mall on  Saturday and Sunday , the eleventh and 12th,  sharing information and offering  some free swag
