Officer and Watch of the Year Named

Prince George, B.C. – CrimeStoppers Prince George has presented its annual award to the “Officer of the Year” and “General Duty Watch of the Year” at the Prince George RCMP Detachment.
Constable Paul Starr has been named Officer of the year, for effective use of Crime Stoppers tips, including those which lead to the execution of a search warrant and arrest of a man for Trafficking in a Controlled Substance.
“B” Wach, led by Staff Sergeant Marc Pelletier has been awarded “Watch of the Year”. “B” watch’s use of Crime Stopper tips led to more arrests in 2013 than any other Watch.
Prince George Detachment Superintendent Eric Stubbs says Prince George is “Fortunate to have a very strong Crime Stoppers organization. The numbers speak for themselves of what the Crime Stoppers tips have netted over the years in arrests, drugs in the locker, firearms in the locker and recovery of stolen property.”
Superintendent Stubbs described the Crime Stoppers organization in Prince George as the “backbone of the community”.
This is Crime Stoppers month, and the organization will be attending a few special events in the City to help spread the word:
-at the Pine Centre Mall on Saturday and Sunday , the eleventh and 12th, sharing information and offering some free swag
-at the UNBC Timberwolves game at the Northern Sport Centre on the 18th. CrimeStoppers will be hosting a paper airplane toss , prizes include a Kindle Fire HD tablet.
-at the Spruce Kings game on Saturday January 25th at the Coliseum, there will be a chance to win another Kindle Fire HD tablet.
