Quesnel Fire Easily Exceeds 1 Million Dollars
Quesnel, B.C. – Damage is expected to easily exceed 1 million dollars in a fire that destroyed three businesses and an apartment in a fire in Quesnel Tuesday morning at Two Mile Flats .

The fire destroyed three businesses and caused major damage to a fourth . Destroyed in the fire was Design Flooring, The Love Shack and ICON Construction . An apartment above ICON was also destroyed leaving the occupant homeless.
The restaurant next door was also heavily damaged.
Due to the water released at the scene , a portion of the bank behind Design Flooring collapsed into the area near the Fraser River. The DFO is investigating the damage.
Mayor Mary Sjostrom says "We're grateful that there were no injuries as a result of this fire."

Was by there this week and it is absolutely amazing that the Icon portion is still there. One side absolutely flat to the ground and the other still standing. This example should be used to show what a proper firewall can do and why they are necessary for multiple family dwellings as opposed to all of the illegal suites we have. Of course kudos to the fire crews too!
