Extra Flu Clinics in P.G.
Prince George, B.C. – Although the current incidence of flu in the Northern Interior of B.C. is considered “normal”, there has been enough demand for flu shots to warrant new public clinics.
Extra flu clinics have been arranged in Prince George for tonight until 7:30 at the Northern Interior Health Unit, and tomorrow from 9-3:30 at the Health Unit.
A list of all flu clinic times and locations is available on northernhealth.ca. A list of eligibility requirements for free flu vaccines is available on immunizebc.ca.
Dr. William Osei, Medical Health Officer for the Northern Interior says the sooner a person gets the flu shot, the better the chances are they will be able to ward off the flu. It takes about 10 days for the flu bug to incubate. With the second peak of flu cases just a few weeks away, a shot now, can help prepare you for that second peak.

Yes we are within the “normal” range for reported incidents of the flu,but we are very near being beyond the “normal” range.

Scroll down to the second page to see where we are at over the last reporting period. The next reporting period should see incidents of flu beyond the “normal” range.
This is probably why Northern Health is arranging for extra flu clinics.
By the way; if you keep scrolling to the next page you on the web link, you can view a break-down of flu incidences by area in BC, including northern BC.
Stay healthy out there!
