Prince George, BC – There were no serious injuries in a multi-vehicle collision that closed Highway 97, just south of Quesnel earlier this evening.
North District RCMP Media Relations Officer, Constable Lesley Smith, says three vehicles were involved in the crash that occurred approximately seven-kilometres south of Quesnel at 5:30pm this evening.
Constable Smith says no one was seriously injured in the crash. Highway 97 is set to re-open in about 10-minutes time.
The collision comes as another reminder to motorists to slow down to compensate for the diverse road conditions that have made for treacherous driving during this winter's rapidly changing weather. (click here for previous story)

Did the maintenance contractor show up, sand, salt and plow the hwy after the crash, like we see them do so many times in the PG area?
Ya why cant we have a plow and sander in front of us at all times…. Really!
That would most certainly slow the traffic down! Ha, ha.
I drive 800 kms a day on the highway between Mackenzie junction and Prince George. This month has seen some pretty nasty roads I would say the maintenance has been mostly not bad. The trend I am seeing is the cars and pickups that loose control and drive in the ditch. At least 95 % end up crossing the centerline and going in the opposite ditch. This is very alarming as the potential for a fatal accident is huge.
If you are not comfortable with your ability to recover from an inadvertent skid and remain on your own side of the road you really need to find another mode of transport.
If you havenât seen this video you should. This driver should have had this itâs an easy recovery my guess is inexperience. You owe yourself and your family a reality check it is fu#$@ing dangerous out there. This is not a game the consequences will last a lifetime if you survive.

Good post, btrucker. There are too many people on the highways not equipped skillwise to drive when something goes wrong. This is where all the accidents come from… too many people taking driving on the highway for granted. All these ‘accidents’ are completely preventable.
