The Prince George Public Library marked Family Literacy Day with Munschmania 2 250News photo
Prince George, BC – It was a day for storytelling at the Bob Harkins Branch of the Prince George Public Library, as kids and their parents gathered all over the branch to listen to the always-zany works of Canadian author, Robert Munsch…
From his knocks on the door – Blam, Blam, Blam – to his apt description of tasting a play clay cookie – burble, burble, splat, splicht, BWAHHH – Munsch knows how to tap into kids' funny bones.
Yesterday marked the second year the library has focused its Family Literacy Day events around Munschmania.
In addition to the stories, there were crafts, games, and other activities going on for the kids yesterday afternoon.
Bottom left, 11-year-old Janessa Bodgener and her seven-year-old sister, Kianna, were enjoying making handprint moose antlers, but Janessa said listening to the stories was her favourite part of the event. At right, three-year-old Ariana Priseman had decided on a butterfly at the facepainting station…she was a little less certain of 250News taking her photo.
