Scary Moment For Spruce Kings Rookie
Prince George, BC – It was a tense evening for the Prince George Spruce Kings and their fans, as they waited for word on rookie defenceman, Danny Kiraly.
The 18-year-old was checked into the boards from behind during last night's game against the Coquitlam Express. Photo at right was tweeted by Spruce Kings' Director of Communications, Ron Gallo.
Kiraly was taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of Northern BC. Fans immediately began sending out thoughts and prayers via Twitter.
The Spruce Kings tweeted an update at around 10pm last night, quoting General Manager, Mike Hawes, as saying Kiraly is "conscious, he's moving, and everything is precautionary right now."
The latest from Gallo is that the Glendale, Arizona native will be at this afternoon's game as a spectator only.
Last night's game ended in a 3-3 tie.
