Prince George, BC – A strong finish for the Prince George Blizzard Speed Skating Club at the Long Track Provincial Championships in Fort St. John over the weekend…

The team placed third overall and had several outstanding finishes, including three first place wins.  Lyle Dickieson won the Masters Men's division, while Eric Orlowsky took gold in the U12 Boys, and Sylvia Masich finished first overall in U12 Girls.

Sam Dalla Lana is coming home with a silver in the U15 Boys category, Landon Young was third in U13 Boys, and Samara Thew took bronze in Open Women's.  Several other Blizzard skaters achieved personal bests at the meet and helped valuable points towards the club's third place finish.

Meantime, Blizzard Nico Hiller was the youngest competitor to finish in the top 15 – placing 13th at a Canada Cup Long Track event in Saskatoon.  The athletes at that event are all seeking times for selection to the national program.
