Midget Cats Fall in Nelson
Prince George, B.C. – Greg Dakus scored the lone goal for the Cariboo Cougars on Saturday in a 4-1 loss to the Kootenay Ice in Nelson.
Jeremy Matte was in net for Cariboo as the team lost its first road game of 2014. With the defeat the Cougars fall to 13-16-2 on the year and were unable to put any additional distance between themselves and the North Island Silvertips in the battle for sixth place in the BC Major Midget League. The Cougars remain three points up on the Silvertips with a game in hand.
The Ice improved to 5-21-5.
The Ice have played the Cougars hard so far this year, winning twice and earning a point in a tie in the other match. The Cougars will try to reverse that trend this morning as the clubs complete the weekend set in Nelson.
