Prince George, B.C.- The blood donor challenge among first responders in Prince George is over, and the B.C. Ambulance Service has been declared the victor.
The friendly challenge saw members of the BC Ambulance Service, RCMP and the Prince George Fire Rescue department, roll up their sleeves and donate blood.

Over the course of the month long “Sirens for Life” challenge in January, the BC Ambulance Service and its supporters, donated 23 units of blood,.
P.G. Fire Rescue was second with 14 units, and the RCMP came in third with 12.
The challenge means new Fire Chief John Iverson and RCMP Superintendent Eric Stubbs will have to deliver coffee and donuts to the winners.
But as Superintendent Stubbs said at the time he made his contribution, that when it comes to donating blood, there are no losers.
Anyone can need blood at any time, and first responders encourage residents to donate blood throughout the year and help save lives. For more information or to book an appointment, go online at www.blood.ca or call 1 888 2 DONATE (1 888 236-6283)
