Nominate a Terrible Prince George Driver

Tuesday, February 11, 2014 @ 4:35 AM

Prince George, B.C. – So you think the driving habits of some Prince George motorists leave something to be desired.  Well guess what?  The nationwide search for the country’s worst drivers is coming to B.C.’s Northern Capital.

This spring the Canada’s Worst Driver show will be marking the tenth year of the program by visiting more cities and meeting with even more bad drivers than ever before. One important stop, according to the show’s producers, is Prince George, a city that has yet to be represented on the program.  The producers plan to narrow in on  motorists who have been known to cause madness and mayhem on city streets.

But they need a little help in identifying those terrible drivers so they’re asking Prince George residents to submit nominations for the 10th season of the series. They can be made online by visiting canadasworstdriver.com. Those selected will be given one of eight spots at the Canada’s Worst Driver rehabilitation centre and driving facility.

Now in its 10th season, the program aims to rehabilitate the country’s worst drivers by immersing them in a series of driving challenges while offering daily hands-on instruction. In each episode, the most improved driver graduates and returns to public roads as a safer and more skilled driver. The last man or woman standing is tagged with the dubious title of ‘Canada’s Worst Driver’.

They may have a hard time finding bad drivers in Prince George that meet their criteria.

Although we knock bad drivers on a regular basis, I do not think that we have any drivers that are as bad as those depicted on the TV program.

My guess is that they will not find any, and at best will have to fabricate some stories, or forget about Prince George .

I had to quit watching that show because I think it’s nearly all faked.

If in fact it is real the person who issued them a pass on the road test should be investigated and fired.

As far as nominations go there is a person who regularly is spotted in a car with a driving school sign on the doors.

That is who I would nominate, I’ll go so far as to say probably anyone who lives in CH would nominate him.

All so-called reality shows are faked and scripted to some degree.

I’m going to nominate my wife…lol

how about all the smart people out yesterday with no headlights? even the rcmp don’t know that headlight are not only so you can see the road but so others on the road can see you. too many people live in their bubble with no concern for anything but themselves

So stupid! This show is a total insult to the intelligence of mankind. Instead of nominating someone to be on a mind numbing, moronic tv show because of their lack of skills and brain cells, how about nominating them to do a retake of their drivers exam and maybe we can get some of these incompetent idiots off of the roads before they kill some one.

I’m with billy – I said that to the wife when we watched that show. The girl only had her license for a year or so and didn’t know even the basics. I said “they should pull her file, find out who passed her and fire their azz”

Wonder if the trucker in the video is from PG. I would nominate him.

http://video.ca.msn.com/watch/video/semi-truck-accident/2gv48dc59?from=en-ca-quad&cpkey=049e4ca1-4f00-4415-b8a6-2169a0c3bc8c%257c%257c%257c%257c

That crash appears to have been caused by a trucker who was too impatient and just had to pass a snowplow with the pass starting in a curve (notice the yellow sign warning of a curve ahead) and having no view of what was ahead for enough of a distance that it took to overtake the snowplow.

That trucker was definitely not driving for the conditions of snow, slight uphill road from the looks of it, a slow moving and “wide” vehicle and insufficient visibility distance to see what is coming. The trucker would have had a similar caution yellow curve sign just about where he would have pulled out to pass.

THAT is why I am cautious around truckers – huge obstacles and tired drivers who need to get somewhere fast because time is money to them.

Boudicca, I totally agree with your comment about people driving around without headlights on. I just drove home and saw two people driving on a highway (within the City limits) without headlights, in the dusk, in a snowstorm. Smart like grouse those people.

Just wish those fatheads would realize that it isn’t just about them being able to see on the road. Kind of scary pulling out from behind a snowbank when some idiot’s driving without headlights in blowing snow.

How about that half blind guy from McBride that was on the show. Is he really that bad or simply a good actor?
