Prince George, B.C. – It was a jam-packed Northern Sports Centre as Prince George residents gathered en masse to celebrate B.C.’s second annual Family Day.

It seems many of the people who live here all thought it a good idea to head up to the Charles Jago centre at UNBC to take part in a wide range of activities which were offered to the public absolutely free.  We don’t know how many hundred young families were on hand during the course of the day but I can tell you that the parking lots in the vicinity were all very close to being full right to the last stall during the course of the day’s event.

The organizers put together a long list of physically and mentally challenging activities, everything from sport testing and physio zones to kids yoga, soccer, badminton, a work-out area featuring several different disciplines, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.  Youngsters had the opportunity to experience what it would be like to have some of their mobility restricted by taking part in a wheelchair basketball game.

It was a day for inviting families to see what the Sport Centre has to offer and promoted healthy activities for all ages which the entire family can do together.

A good way to spend Family Day.
