Prince George, BC – The Pineview Seniors Centre has received a $10-thousand dollar grant from the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George to maintain the facility.

Directors of the regional district approved the request at Thursday's board meeting – it was the largest of several community and recreation grants approved, totalling just under $30-thousand dollars.

The Hixon Community Association will receive $8500 to cover insurance expenses.  The Valemount Recreation Development Association had a request for $5000 approved to cover expenses for members part of the community's Snow Host Team, which provides on-the-mountain eduction about the endangered mountain caribou to backcountry recreationalists.

The Valemount Lions Club will use its $2100 grant for tree removal.
