New Safety Equipment For Quesnel Airport
Quesnel, BC – The Quesnel Regional Airport will soon have a new runway condition reporting system in place thanks to federal funding under the Airports Capital Assistance Program.
The $39-thousand dolar reporting system will provide precise and timely wireless reporting and recording of runway conditions.
Cariboo-Prince George MP, Dick Harris, says the airport is a vital gateway for local residents and businesses. "This funding will enhance the safety of all those who use this airport, especially the communities and businesses in this region that rely on it."
Quesnel Mayor, Mary Sjostrom, says the city is grateful for the modernized reporting system. Under the ACAP, Quesnel's airport has received $2.8-million dollars in funding for seven projects, including the installation of a runway approach lighting system, runway sweeper, and runway repairs.
