Prince George, BC – The Otway Nordic Ski Centre is receiving high praise from a national director with Canada's sanctioning body for cross country skiing, at the wrap of the 2014 Haywood NorAm Western Canada Cross Country Ski Championships.
The four-day competition served as a 'test event' for the local Caledonia Nordic Ski Club as it prepares for next February's Canada Winter Games. The championship was the first Internationally-sanctioned event to be hosted by Otway in almost 10-years and the club is being commended for a job well done.
Dave Dyer is the Race Director for Cross Country Canada. "The quality of facilities and trails now available at Otway as a result of volunteer efforts and investment by public and private supporters over the past three years is second-to-none in Canada," says Dyer. "(They) would make many World Cup sites envious."
"The nordic athletes at the 2015 Canada Winter Games are sure to have a tremendous experience next season."
