Rockets Take Two Against Cariboo Cats

Monday, February 24, 2014 @ 4:21 AM

Prince George, B.C. – The Cariboo Cougars got their first taste of playing in their brand new barn over the weekend.  Unfortunately, the sparkling surroundings did not translate into victories on the ice.

The top team in the B.C. Major Midget Hockey League, the Okanagan Rockets, were the visitors for a weekend doubleheader, and they skated away with a pair of victories to boost their record to an impressive 31-5-2.    The Rockets soared to a 9-2 victory Saturday and the Cougars sucked that one up and put in a much better effort Sunday, although losing a tight contest 5-4.

The Cougars, now 17-19-2, complete their regular season schedule next weekend when the Vancouver Northwest Giants come to town.
