Prince George, BC – City residents will be able to ride transit for free today because of the air quality advisory…

The 'Free Fare for Clean Air' program is meant, in part, to be an incentive for drivers to consider leaving their vehicles at home – reducing emissions and improving air quality.

"The Free Fare program remains until midnight of the day the advisory is lifted," says the City's Manager of Transportation, Dave Bradshaw.  "This is important because it ensures that anyone going to work who left their car at home to take advantage of the free ride will still have a free ride after work."

The air quality advisory issued yesterday will be updated later this morning.
