Air Quality Advisory Lifted
Prince George, B.C. – The air quality advisory for Prince George has been lifted.
The high pressure ridge that had been creating stagnant air conditions in the city, has moved west and a light northerly flow has helped flush the high levels of particulates from the area.
The 24 hour average levels of fine and coarse particulates are still above the provincial targets, but the hourly values are expected to remain low throughout the day meaning the 24 hour rolling average will drop well below the provincial objectives by this afternoon.
The 24 hour rolling average for fine particulates was 29 micrograms per cubic metre at Plaza 400 this morning at 9 this morning, while the 24 hour average for coarse particulates was 53 micrograms per cubic metre at the Plaza 400 downtown at nine.
The rescinding of the Air quality Advisory means the city’s Free Fare for Clean Air free transit rides will come to an end at midnight tonight

Sure stinks though…….
It still really smells!
Page 7 in the following BC air quality index report is a real eye opener! Prince George leads the Province in almost every category for poor air quality. Go figure!
