Prince George, B.C.-  With  the windchill expected to  hold around minus 30 today, March has come in like a Lion.

Environment Canada is  predicting  better days ahead, starting with a gradual warming towards the end of this week.

The three month  forecast is predicting  a 40-50% probability of  above normal temperatures for the Prince George area  through to the end of May.

As for precipitation, the experts at Environment Canada say there is a 40-50% probability  of above normal precipitation during the same period.

The good news is  the  predictions do not  call for  below normal temperatures for the next three months

Weather predictions are like politicians. Take what they say with many grains of salt.

I wonder how many times they will “adjust” these computer models over the coming months to reflect reality?

Bring on global warming

If its’ a 40-50% probability of warmer temperatures, I guess that means it’s a 40-50% probability of colder temperatures too.

“Warmer Than Normal In Months Ahead..”

AKA “Spring”..

If this is the case i hope the freshet doesnt wreak too much havoc in the comming months..

I predict two months from now will be 100% warmer than today

Flood, everyone, can they say run for the hills

So there’s a 50-50 chance. That’s really helpful.

The map shows near normal temps for the PG, Stikine-Bulkley, and North Coast regions. No prediction of precipitation for these regions are made.

Based on the comments here, it would seem most only read the headlines and get entranced by the pretty colours on environment maps! lol

Don’t put your winter garments away just yet. The groundhogs will be hibernating for awhile. ;-)

I wonder if the artic ice grew this winter? or did all the cold end up in Regina.
