Colleges Join Forces to Recruit
Prince George, B.C. – The College of New Caledonia is one of the regional Colleges in B.C. featured on a new recruitment website.
While it may catch the interest of potential students, it is aimed at recruiting people to work at the various campuses outside of the Greater Vancouver area.
“It’s Good Out Here” (www.itsgoodouthere.com) showcases the advantages of working at regional colleges and living in the smaller communities.
This is the first time the regional colleges have collaborated on a project this size. The website features 43 communities from Vancouver Island and Haida Gwaii, the Yukon border to the north, the Rockies to the east and everything in between.
“There are some excellent careers available in some great communities and we just need to let people know about them,” says Sandra Rossi, CNC’s Executive Director of Human Resources. “This website should really help us spread the word about great communities like Prince George and wonderful colleges like CNC and others.”
Rossi says the colleges aren't worried about competing with each other for the same qualified people "This is more about retention. We're wanting to recruit people who are really interested in our area. We are not seeing this as competition, we want to make sure that while the position is a good fit, that the candidates have really good flavour for the community by giving them a realistic snapshot of what its like to live here."
Job opportunities include careers in teaching, administration, finance, health services, information technology, maintenance, trades and senior leadership.

Sure would be nice if they were promoting The Trades with a trades website! I wonder why they don’t have one?
