Prince George, B.C. – The deadline for nominating a volunteer you feel goes way above and beyond the call of duty is being extended.

The City of Prince George is extending the nomination deadline for Prince George’s annual Volunteer Awards. Residents are encouraged to submit a nomination for a community member who has displayed exemplary volunteerism and generosity in the city. Nomination packages can be submitted to City Hall any time prior to 4:30pm on March 17.

There are four types of awards to be handed out by the Mayor and Council at the Civic Appreciation Dinner, which will be held at the Prince George Civic Centre on April 26:

 Recreation and Culture Award, Community Service Award, Youth of the Year Award and the Outstanding Volunteer of Merit Award.
