Firearms Seizure in Prince George
Firearms seized from Noranda Road Home – photos courtesy CFSEU
Prince George, B.C.- Another seizure of firearms in Prince George.
The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) North District, along with Prince George RCMP and the North District Police dog Services executed a search warrant on a home in the 2300 block of Noranda Road West late last week.
Police believed the home was a cache for firearms and may be associated to one or more gang members in the Prince George area.
The search resulted in the seizure of seven handguns including:
- a 9 mm Glock semi-automatic pistol,
- a .40 calibre semi-automatic pistol,
- a .44 magnum revolver, and
- an M12 machine pistol with a silencer.
In addition to the handguns, 11 rifles were seized including:
- three SKS semi-automatic military-style rifles,
- two .22 calibre Mossberg semi-automatic rifles made to resemble M-16-type assault rifles,
- an AK-47-type semi-automatic military-style rifle, and
- a pistol grip shotgun.
Included with the firearms were six prohibited high-capacity magazines and approximately 2,000 rounds of assorted ammunition.
No one was in the residence at the time of the search warrant and no one has been arrested as a result of the seizure.
“We believe that this seizure represents a significant blow to the capabilities of certain gang members in the Prince George area to cause fear or commit acts of extreme violence,” says CFSEU-BC spokesperson Sergeant Lindsey Houghton.
CFSEU-BC’s investigation into the origins of the firearms and anyone who may be associated to them remains ongoing.

Sweet firearms. Scary descriptions intended to instil fear among the uninformed/naive public. After all, the only people that should be permitted firearms are the military and police.
Yup basic fear mongering in action.
…and gang members.
Who ever wrote this is trying to make these guns sound more dangerous….a 22 is a 22 and it doesn’t matter what it looks like.
Semi-automatic rifles and pistol grip shotguns are useless for hunting anything other than people. Main reason for owning one is to try to compensate for a shortcoming between the ears or just below the belt.
The 44 magnum is also a penis extender ala Clint Eastwood and no excuse at all for a weapon with a silencer.
These weapons have NO use except crime!! Kudos to the Police for getting these things off the street.
How about this – if we know who the gang members are and know that taking these weapons will change their “capabilities” then let’s not get hung up on the description of the weapons. Let’s throw the dirtbag bastards in jail and throw away the key. Much better.

============================================
I guess you have never hunted then because there are plenty who have and have had success taking game with a semi-auto.
Good work all around. Thanks to the local Mounties for getting these dangerous weapons out of our community. Hopefully they can get the people that had them out as well.
Firearms aren’t dangerous until they are placed into the hands of dangerous people. The same goes with spoons and forks.
Uninformed/naive people are some of the worst fear mongers. They love spreading nonsensical untruths about firearms.
Just stay hidden in your cave etwit and you’ll be safe. LOL!
There is nothing in the article that is fear mongering. I think some people are just too sensitive.
Hell Ya PG!
Anyone who would say “Sweet firearms” about a picture like the one above would definitely have shortcomings in both areas I mentioned earlier.
billyinpg If you need a gun with a banana clip or drum magazine to bring down a bambi then I would say that hunting is not for you unless you like steaks that look like swiss cheese.

Interesting position to take. Substitute any vehicle with latest options into your statements.
I submit it isn’t a need for those things either. It is all about freedom of choice.
I wouldn’t want to drive a VW Bug in PG winters or around PG drivers. Choice is a healthy thing. I am glad I haven’t seen your bedroom – must be pretty dull in there.
LOL ;)
Great to see these things off the street. Thanks folks!
When were these firearms on the street, Grizzly1? The article clearly states that a search warrant was obtained so officials could seize the property from the address named on the warrant.
So ewitt does your reasoning apply to cops with guns?
And the other rifles were normal hunting riffles. Maybe the guy likes to target practice too
Do you guys who think this was wrong of the cops to do think for even a second? Don’t you think they have been watching this place for quite sometime or had some kind of information in order to get a warrant. The same people condemning the cops on here are the same people who constantly complain about how soft the law is on criminals. Get your priorities straight. And no, I am not some tree hugging hippy who eats nothing but nuts and fruits. I hunt, fish and do all the things an outdoor enthusiast does. I don’t need 20 guns to do it though.

I have to wonder why their information didn’t include the fact that no one was home at the time of the seizure? A few guns are no longer in the possession of alleged gang members but the alleged gang members are still out there. They are probably a lot more dangerous then the guns.
ewitt,
I have never seen a banana clip in my life what is it? Is it something you would clip to a banana for some reason? How would a person kill a bambi with one, jam the banana and clip down it’s throat and make it choke to death?
As for the pics I see a drum magazine which may or may not be limited to 5 rounds and a 5 round magazine. I also see two Mossberg .22’s one with a perfectly legal magazine.
In fact everything listed or pictured is legal to own with the exception of the M12, the silencer and *possibly* that drum mag if it wasn’t pinned to 5 rounds.
So what is the issue again? Oh yea fear mongering is living in your head rent free.
A semi automatic only fires one shot at a time. If it has a banana clip or a 5 shot magazine it makes no difference to the speed the gun will fire off ONE bullet. Swiss cheese? I think not.
As far as getting these away from a criminal element, that is a good thing.
I’ve always said, put bullet proof glass in at CN Center, put all of these confiscated weapons in the middle and let loose all the ‘known to police’ for a free for all of their own. Last person standing wins!
Might want to dig out your reading glasses billy as the article clearly states “six prohibited high-capacity magazines”
Better do a little research if you want to become a bona fide gun nut.

Hmmm, someone has a thing for shortcomings apparently.
I wonder if he can claim he is a lousy hunter, and needs this kind of firearm to actually bring home a animal.
You seem to be against everything etwit.
making an unintended joke of the term banana clip clearly shows your lack of firearms knowledge.
someone has a thing for shortcomings apparently
pot calling the kettle black maybe
;)

Someone needs to do some research and it isn’t me. It’s very apparent you are one of the uninformed by choice and that’s pretty sad.
The photo’s depict tools nothing more nothing less. It’s all in how a person uses that tool that makes the difference.
Answer me this, has anyone ever used any of the following to kill a human being…
Car
Truck
Knife
Spoon
Fork
Hammer
Chainsaw
Telephone
Rope
Hand/ fist
Electricity
on and on and on…
So why are you not standing up against all of those?
The problem is the people that had these firearms. I know several people that own and use the SKS a few ladies included. I own a semi-auto shotgun that I use for hunting geese. I also have a 44 mag revolver that I have a permit to carry when I am working in the bush. Never had to use it. Guess that is my penis extender. Anyway, as I said the problem is that these people have these firearms for miss use and I think the police are well positioned to seize them from people that would use them illegally.
I guess the difference would be:
The car, truck, spoon, fork, hammer, telephone , rope, hand/fist, electricity, were not invented for the purpose of killing. The chain saw is the exception on your list. It was invented to kill trees.
Texas Spoon Massacre. Just doesn’t roll off the tongue.
A person can buy a 110 round drum for a Ruger 10-22 in Vancouver. Wanstalls has them for a $109.99. I think the differnce is that it is rim fire vs centre fire which is a 5 shot legal limit
Ewitt, if it makes you feel any better I recently passed my Pal and I plan on getting a bunch of rifles that look like this. I’m not even going to hunt with them. I just want to target shoot. Scary isn’t it? Maybe to the uninformed.
ehighfive findme. See you on the range :)
I wish I could afford those firearms they are sweet. 160,000 car accidents each year in Canada, I think we should confiscate everyone’s car so I can feel safe again.
What’s the point of even debating someone who is honestly trying to make a comparison between a semi-auto or hand gun and a spoon?
Just let them live in their own little special place.
For all of you who feel this seizure was a ‘violation of our freedom’, would you feel the same way if someone close to you was caught in a crossfire in the commitment of a crime? And, crime does happen, you know!
Life isn’t perfect, is it?
snuff, we need to take the criminals off the street. Confiscating some gun owners guns isn’t going to stop crime. These guns in this picture don’t scare me in the slightest. The soft stand the federal Liberals take on criminals scares me.
Lets see. I just sold a dozen of my firearms to a local dealer. Now I only have 12 of my own including a sweet Sig Sauer Stainless Target 45ACP. The trick is to learn how to tame the recoil on that baby. One thing I’m having trouble with is…why they called it a “Target” and why the adjustable rear sights?

Spoons make you fat! Ban’em!!! Two spoons in the same drawer = semi auto. Three or more = fully auto.
Maybe they were for fighting the tax increases set forth by the Green Goblin and her band of misfits!
Dragonmaster, sorry to hear you are down to just 12 ;)
I picked myself up a Norinco 1911 a1c a couple of years back and it’s been a fun little piece.
I’ve been thinking of doing what’s in the link when I get a little more time on my hands.
Isn’t it nice to turn around a subject such as this into something positive ;)
Sorry for not including a warning with the http://www.ipscbc.com/ link I provided earlier. I will so now.
“Caution” the following link contains scenes in which, (are you ready for this, can you handle it?) law abiding people are actually discharging firearms for fun. I know that is hard to fathom for some but it indeed does happen around the world probably every second of every minute of every day. If you are offended when it comes to people enjoying themselves in such a manner please do not click on this link. We don’t want you to have a coronary or have you be informed about what really goes on around you every day.
It brought me to tears over the ones I sold billy but they had to go. My Sig 1911 is a “SWEET FIREARM”. I need to get it out more so it can discharge all by itself. They do shoot all by themselves don’t they? :-)
By the way billy at first I thought you were referring to 12…… ah never mind.
“Isn’t it nice to turn around a subject such as this into something positive ;)”

The anti’s always ruin the fun! Don’t they?
Oh yeah !
“I’ll give you my spoons when you pry them from my cold dead hands”
“Texas Spoon Massacre. Just doesn’t roll off the tongue”
———————————–
It would if that was the only method to perform a Texas spoon massacre!
Easy solution to this whole mess, just make those gang members trade in their firearms for these guns. ;-)

18 guns in a house where nobody was home. Makes you wonder what they carry with them.
“18 guns in a house where nobody was home. Makes you wonder what they carry with them”
Are people that own firearms not permitted to leave their homes Mien fuhrer?
But why didn’t the RCMP confiscate the spoons ?
yes, yes take away all the spoons. It’s for the children LOL.
Who would’ve thought a story about gangsters guns would get so many comments. Only in PG.
Since the market for swords and ploughshares is so soft, maybe we could turn all the handguns into spoons, what do you think?
metalman.
This house must have been under surveillance big time to get the search warrant, so why not some pics here of the people going in and out? They all have to be known to the police… And no fingerprints reported? Seems like a poor investigation so far…
That was yesterday. Today on FOX News we will be comparing firearms with shoe horns.
dm: actually I only have a cooey single shot with cocking bolt that my dad gave me in my youth.
my real hunting weapons are a knife, and and bow.
nice and quiet, and I can hit a quarter at 40 yards.
I have no need for a “penile enhancement” device.
Dragonmaster and billyinpg have a point, as does Jim13135.
But they only consider the pic and none of the story. Focus on the legality to own the firearm, that is fine, did anyone legally have the right to own the firearm then? In this case probably not – or maybe one or two of them.
Read the story, this was a supposed cache of firearms to be doled out in future gang operations. If anyone has the legal documents to own the guns they will get them back fairly quick. But I don’t see a story where a homeowner returns to find his/her 7 handguns and 11 rifles stolen anytime soon and I doubt anyone will come forward to claim ‘their’ guns and face a charge on 6 prohibited high capacity magazines and more than likely storage and other charges.
Yes a semi-auto fires one bullet at a time, but it will rapid fire as fast as you can pull the trigger with your little finger until you are out of bullets. Regular rifles fire a bullet, pull the bolt back and eject, push bolt forward and load, aim and pull trigger and repeat.
Fingerprints are overrated, we had a break in and Ident couldn’t pull fingerprints off a basement window because there was ‘light dust’ on it.
Oh shoot. My SAC is about to expire.
Spoon Armed Certificate.
All my spoons are unregistered. I even have plastic ones the make it through security.
