Spring Arrives Later this Morning.
Thursday, March 20, 2014 @ 4:00 AM
Prince George, B.C. –Spring officially arrives in Prince George at 9:57 this morning. That is the time of the Vernal equinox, when the split between day and night is supposed to be “equal”.
That split today in Prince George will mean the sun will rise at 7:10 this morning , and set at 7:25 this evening, giving Prince George 12:15 of daylight.
Prince George was closer to an equal split of day and night on the 17th, when there were 12 hours and two minutes of daylight because the sun rose at 7:18 am and set at 7:20 pm.

hallalua, seemed like forever getting here, nice warm nights/days ahead I see -11 lows 0 for highs don’t plant the garden just yet!!!
Opinion’s explanation here a bit foggy on this…..the equinox, or equal day and night is indeed about this time of year but not exactly. The actual arrival of spring they are talking about is the exact time when the sun crosses tilt of the earth’s axis to then favour the northern hemisphere in this case.
Oh yes I been waiting since Last Sep :-)
Last frost free day in late May? 90 day growing window (average). Correct me if I’m wrong. Thnx.
