Massey Closed West Bound In Prince George

Thursday, March 20, 2014 @ 7:43 AM

Prince George- Massey is closed, between the YMCA  and the underpass  to west bound traffic this morning as RCMP and fire rescue wait for BC hydro to secure a Hydro pole that was hit by a pickup before 7.00am.

Police are investigating, but say speed and alcohol, may be a factor in the collision.

Before 7am speed and alcohol may be a factor….. Hell yeah PG!

They won’t slow down!

Another one this morning by 22nd and Ospika.

Its 5 0’Clock somewhere

Now if alcohol is proven then ICBC will not pay for any damages, is that correct? Will BCHydro go after the person for damages to the pole? If so, the RCMP or the city should go after him too for the cost of police involvement.

You can see the icy road, looks like someone maybe heading out to camp and was probably just driving too fast for the icy conditions. That looks like that sharp corner by the skatepark.

ICBC will pay and then go after the driver.

And i believe they will go after all costs associated to the crash including any admin fees.

It is that part of the road.

ICBC should pay to relocate the Y to the other side of the road so that the road can be straightened.

I really do not understand why ICBC does not design our road systems to provide our drivers with fewer challenges to keep wheels on pavement.

;-)

Heading to camp? Looks like heading to the dump with recycling and compostable materials.

Quick, some idiot blame it on texting….

Looks like he was trying to pull an all-nighter.

Gus, maybe driving to the rules of the road with due care and attention might help. ICBC can’t be responsible for idiots!!!

“Looks like heading to the dump with recycling and compostable materials.”

Bingo! Its a rep for MMBC trying to set morning turn around times for the contractors

The pole at the bottom looks rotten , and lucky the truck is not split in two if it wasn’t .

who goes to the dump @ $6/100kg

Dumping recyclables and compostables is still free, including the Quinn St. Station.

In fact, there are public dumpsters in various parts of town that take newspapers, cardboard and miscellaneous paper, plastic milk jugs as well as metal cans.

The bottle depots take things such as paints, etc. plus electronics, fluorescent bulbs, refund items, etc.

Some of that will be handled by the new “free” door to door service.

“who goes to the dump @ $6/100kg”

People who drive under the influence, if that is the case here. ;-)

The wheelwell and springs look “rotten” as well ….. :-)

I see the problem. It’s a Ford.

Maybe he was just trying to parallel park and got carried away?

“I see the problem. It’s a Ford.”

Yeah someone circled the problem on the tailgate!

Randy, in a round about way, ICBC is being responsible for idiots, or at least the cost of their damages.

Being a ford is the reason why it wasn’t split in half , ha ha

as stupid as the actions where ,glad that no one was killed

Of course that beeter wagon shouldn’t be on the sidewalk, the power pole shouldn’t be in the middle of the sidewalk either.

Maybe the poles were put in the middle of the sidewalk to help protect pedestrians from moron drivers.

If said Person (is) from New Hazelton, then all laws do not apply….

sorry , not being judgementle, just stating facts.

If that was a me, a hard working person, I would loose everything?????

Just saying
