Dust Advisory Over
Prince George, B.C. – The Dust Advisory for Prince George has been cancelled.
Ministry of the Environment Meteorologist Dennis Fudge says levels of coarse particulate, (PM10) have dropped significantly.
The provincial air quality objective for coarse particles, PM10, is 50 micrograms per cubic metre, averaged over 24 hours. The 24 hour PM10 rolling average was 46 µg/m3 at the Plaza 400 downtown, 32 µg/m3 at College Heights and 71 µg/m3 at BCR at noon today.
Fudge says although the rolling average at the BCR site is still high, the hourly numbers are much lower, in the 28-30 µg/m3 range. He says the rolling average remains high at that site because there were significant peaks last evening at the BCR, and it will take time for the low hourly figures to have an impact on that 24 hour rolling average.
As for fine particulate, PM2.5, the provincial objective is 25 micrograms per cubic metre, averaged over 24 hours. The 24 hour PM2.5 rolling average was 11 µg/m3 at the Plaza 400 downtown site and 9 µg/m3 at College Heights at noon.
The cancellation of the air quality advisory means the City’s Free Fare for Clean Air free transit rides, will come to an end at midnight tonight.

They’re kidding right?
When will they clean the streets!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is still winter here , you need to have patience, slow down,, look around ,, take a deep breathe ,life is good here compared to the rest of the world . There are many more important things too cause grief than a dirty street ,, don’t you think ? ) cheers
Sweepers and water trucks have been working the Hill on Ospika in the southbound lanes for two days. All they have done is spread the dirt all over both lanes. Someone down there needs to take a look at the piss poor performance we are getting from our street sweepers. They are supposed to pick it up not spread it all over the damn place. Who is running this show anyway?
A prison chain gang with brooms would do a better job.
I have three extra brooms,,, prisoners please .
lots of willing guys up on the hill
I like the idea. It’s a win, win. All we need is some brooms, some willing prisoners and a DraGunmaster on 1 sunnyday. Problem solved.
monkey doo, your right. Lots of people complaining about a lot of petty things.
We live in a pretty nice part of the world. no earthquakes, no tsunami, no major floods, no hurricanes and tornados
no poisonous insects. we got it pretty good. bit cold in the winter, and a few misquitos in the spring.
